HOW IMPORTANT IS WATER?

WHY IS WATER SO IMPORTANT?

60 percent of our body weight is made up of water. Our bodies use water in all the cells, organs, and tissues, to help regulate body temperature and maintain other functions.

Because our bodies lose water through breathing, sweating, and digestion, it's crucial to rehydrate and replace water by drinking fluids and eating foods that contain water.

THE WAY WATER IMPACT OUR LIVES

1. It regulates body temperature

2. Improves cognitive functions

3. Protects the tissues, spine, and joints

4. Improves physical performance

5. Prevents dehydration

HOW MUCH WATER SHOULD I DRINK?

The general recommendation is about 13 cups and 9 cups for healthy men and women, respectively, with 1 cup equal to 8 ounces.

Higher amounts may be needed for those who are physically active or exposed to very warm climates. Lower amounts may be needed for those with smaller body sizes.

It’s important to note that this amount is not a daily target, but a general guide.
